Why Being A Wedding Guest Is Way Better Than Being The Bride...
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride? What exactly is the problem with that? According to the stigma, if you're not married by the age of thirty you automatically enter into the washed up, spinster category. Even if you have all the other boxes ticked- successful career, amazing friends, maybe even your own home- if the answer to questions about your romantic life is 'I'm not seeing anyone special at the moment', chances are you'll still receive that 'poor you' look in response.
You know what? It's not even our fault. There are statistically not enough unmarried men to go around. Also, here's a shocker; even if we beat the odds and somehow manage to find the man of our dreams, we actually may not even feel the need to get married. Have you heard how expensive weddings are these days?
If you think about it, being a bridesmaid or even just a guest at a wedding is far better than being the lucky couple. You still get that warm, fuzzy feeling watching your friends confess their love, there is always an open bar (if not, you're not doing it right... sorry) and you get a free meal. Plus, if you're lucky you'll get your pick of any number of handsome groomsmen (or bridesmaids) you'll never have to see again. Not to mention the more weddings you go to, the more excuses you have to buy that amazing, one of a kind dress you've always wanted but never had an occasion for.
It's a win, win.
So go stag to weddings, be a bridesmaid and most importantly, look way better than the bride in something that doesn't resemble a giant marshmallow.
