We chat style, denim + Strangers Things 2 with Ade ahead of her hosting duties.
BNKR: How would you describe your style aesthetic?
Ade: So funny when people ask me that…it’s a mix of eclectic androgyny, in colour. I love mixing prints in anything oversized. And layers!
What the best fashion advice you would give?
Be yourself! Be yourself in styling, as a stylist or as a creative in general.
If you weren’t a stylist, what would you want to be?
A shoe designer! [laughs]
What’s your favourite part of the job?
My favourite part of the job is seeing the final product whether it be in a video, on clients or in an advertisement. It’s so fulfilling after going through all the grunt work to get it done.
If you had a superpower, what would it be?
I would love to be Matilda. To be able to move objects…that Stranger Things type of power.
What’s the last thing you binge watched?
Stranger Things 2. I finished it in a day and a half!
What song is totally stuck in your head right now?
'Fall' by Davido.
What 3 things do you never leave home without?
I never leave the house without my computer, a notebook or journal and perfume.
What’s your dream vacation destination?
I love Jamaica. That will always be my dream destination no matter how many times I visit. Jamaica or Hawaii.
What is your current closet obsession?
I love having things merchandised, even in my personal closet. Colour coordination is a must.
Do you have any rules for styling and wearing denim?
Even though denim is a classic staple, I love to have fun with it…a Canadian tux, contrasting, pairing denim on denim.
What is your favorite piece from The Fifth x Sarah Darby collaboration?
The Bianca Embroidered Jean. I love the embroidery work she did on the front pockets.
